For Best Traditional Blues Album, Porcupine Meat, Bobby Rush won his first Grammy in over half a century of playing the Blues and at the age of 83.
Born In Louisiana, Rush had been exposed to the music from an early age. In early fifties he and his family moved to Chicago where he made large contribution to Chicago Blues. This barely touches the great amount of accomplishments Bobby Rush gave to this world along nearly quarter of a hundred albums made from various Blues influences.
This is a big deal. Not only because the man is long due his recognition, but also because the Blues is still around, standing and keeping all your drinks coming. Hope for Bobby Rush, one of the few original Bluesmen to live many more decades and give us many more albums to vote the best.
Here, have some of it…
